Dear Members of the Trinity Community,

2023 Subject Selection Process for Year 10 Students

SAVE THE DATE

Year 10 into 11

Parent Information Evening

Tuesday 21 June

@SCU from 6:00pm

This very important conversation will commence with Year 10 students and Leaders of Learning on Monday 20 June. Parents are invited to attend an information evening regarding 2023 Year 11 subject selection on Tuesday 21 June at 6pm at the Trinity campus Southern Cross University. The subject selection process for the HSC can be a little overwhelming and there are many rules that must be followed to ensure each student is eligible to achieve a HSC, RoSA and/or ATAR.

The Subject Selection evening is the perfect chance to hear a presentation around the NESA requirements as well as speak to subject area teachers about each subject on offer. I encourage every Year 10 student and their parent/carer to attend this evening.

2022 HSC Written Examination Timetable

NESA has released the 2022 HSC Written Examination Timetable. Click here to access it. Students can also access their personalised HSC timetables by logging into their Students Online accounts. The 2022 HSC examinations will commence on Wednesday 12 October and conclude on Thursday 3 November.

‘Around the Grounds’ - Pedagogy in Action

Picture_curr.png

This week a group of students, accompanied by Mr Lyon, toured the campus looking at some of our fantastic pedagogy in action. The touring students respectfully worked with the teachers and their students to ask the students what they were learning. The students who were interviewed were able to articulate their learning intentions very well and this is testament to the clarity of their teachers. Here Abi Smith can be seen running the group through their science experiment on inertia. Thank you to Mr Leo Baker for his work in teaching this class, and for allowing the group to film. We captured quite a few amazing examples, so we will keep the good news coming.

How To Study

We often say to the students that we need to be constantly learning how to learn, not just “remembering stuff”. Likewise, we also need to teach how to “study”. Rest assured that this is something we do constantly at Trinity and it is built into our practice. This article may help you support your child at home with strategies for study.   13 Effective Study Strategies to Help Students Learn
